Introductory Canoe Clinic

The Saskatoon Canoe Club is offering members courses and skill learning opportunities this summer for Canoeing and Kayaking

If you're eager to get outdoors and learn canoeing basics, SCC is hosting an Introductory Canoe Clinic discounted for members.

This is the most novice instruction SCC is offering for Canoeing.

Additional courses will be offered soon for those eager to grow their skills in canoe and kayak!

The two-evening Introductory Canoe Clinic covers all the basics you need to know. Instruction takes place on the community lake in John Avant Park, with the second evening on the South Saskatchewan if group skills and water conditions permit.

Cost to members upfront is $25 / participant + $25 deposit

When both evenings are complete participants will receive a deposit refund of $25

This Canoe Clinic is excellent for new paddlers and covers the basics for:

  • Safety and Rescue
  • Canoeing Skills and Knowledge
  • Paddling positions and roles
  • Strokes
  • Maneuvers
  • River skills (when the instructor decides participants are ready for the river)

I encourage all members to consider enrolling in these clinics to refresh their overall skills, especially members who are new or have little experience with moving water. The Saskatoon Canoe Club and Outdoor Experience are aware and are following the most current public health restrictions for outdoor instruction. Masks are required at all times. Groups are limited to 8 maximum.

Happy Paddling!
