Kayak Mini Clinics: Register Now

We are happy to offer our first set of beginner kayak clinics.  These non-certification mini clinics are intended for members who are new to kayaking or who have never received any formal kayaking instruction before and want to gain some confidence and skills on the water.  We will cover lots of different paddle strokes, how to carry and launch a kayak, kayak types and part names, paddling clothing, how to read the river, and even what happens if you tip!

Each mini clinic includes a total of 5 hours of instruction from Paddle Canada certified instructors and is only open to SCC Recreation Division members.  With a subsidy provided by the SCC, the cost is $25 per participant and pre-registration is required.

The following dates are available for registration:

  • Saturday, May 29th: 9am-2:30pm (half-hour lunch)
  • Sunday, May 30th: 9am-2:30pm (half-hour lunch)
  • Tues June 8 & Thurs June 10, 6-8:30pm each day.
