The following email was sent to all members June 25

Hello paddlers,

We are pleased to announce that starting today (Thursday, June 25th) we are resuming group paddles as follows:

Recreation Division group paddles will take place Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 11:00 a.m.  An experienced member will be on hand to lead the group.  The speed and distance covered will depend on the group’s skills and ambitions, and we generally spend about an hour and a half on the water.  Please remember your PFD/whistle, and arrive a few minutes early to sign out your equipment.

Marathon Division group paddles will take place Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m.  For the time being, Marathon group paddles will not have a designated leader nor begin with an instruction session.  Marathon members are reminded that they must each be trained in the equipment disinfection procedures by SCC staff in order to use SCC equipment outside the staff hours.

Current provincial guidelines are that people from different extended household groups/bubbles must maintain a physical distance of 2 m for low-intensity physical activity (e.g. casual paddling) and 4 m for intense physical activity (e.g. paddling hard).  The maximum allowable group size for outdoor gatherings is 30 people.

Thank you for your cooperation thus far in our efforts to keep our community safe as we keep fit and have fun!
