Membership Registration for 2020

Online registration for SCC 2020 memberships is now open.  SCC membership is annual and the membership period starts from the date of registration and lasts until December 31st of that year.  You can join either one or both of our club’s divisions:

Marathon - For those interested in learning to make canoes go fast and far as efficiently as possible or participating in optional competitive races

Recreation - For those who just want to relax on the river, learn to paddle, or go on paddling/camping trips

The fee is $60 for a single division or $75 if you are registering in both divisions. Children 17 and under are free when registered with an adult.

You may have noticed an increase in our membership fees over last year!  This increase has originated from an increased cost of belonging to the provincial sport governing body which provides our club and members with insurance. We are looking into our options to ensure we are receiving the best value for all members.

Annual General Meeting March 30th

Our annual general meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday March 30th at Dr. Freda Ahenakew Library (100 - 219 Ave K South Saskatoon) and you are encouraged to attend.  Note that this is a different location than the past several years.  Food and refreshments will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m. In addition to presenting reports on the 2019 season and our plans for 2020, we will elect the executive to serve for the next year.  You must obtain a 2020 membership prior to the meeting in order to vote.

Open Executive Positions

While all positions are open for nomination, we are in particular need of candidates for President, Marathon Director, and Member-at-Large.  A list of the duties for all executive positions is available here.

In recognition of their service to the club, all executive members receive a free membership for the SCC division of their choice in the year following their term served.  If you are considering letting your name stand for election to the executive, you are encouraged to contact president@saskatooncanoeclub.org before the AGM.

Job Posting: SCC Boathouse Supervisor

We will once again be hiring summer staff to help members out this summer.  Please check out the job posting for the full description and application details.

Seeking Volunteers with Expertise in Insurance and/or Law
